What's wrong with the 14mp APS Pentax K20d?

Nothing. Pentax has made excellent cameras for decades. Their glass is second to none. Those who insist that Nikon or Canon are the only answers are psychologically unable to evaluate equipment on their own and only purchase what they are told by their friends or media what to purchase.
No responsible manufacturer can afford to put second quality goods on the market today – rumors fly too fast.
The lettering on the front of the Pentasprism, it doesn't say Canon or Nikon.
It threatens insecure photographers who rely on the assurance of brand names.

When you buy a camera, you are buying into the accessories for that camera. The Pentax could be a fabulous camera, but if the accessories are limiting, no one will use it. No one can afford to use it.
That's the bottom line – can you do what you want to do with that camera? Are the accessories available today?

Absolutely nothing – unless you're as goofy as the woman I knew long ago who told me that my Minolta wasn't "good enough" and I should get a Nikon. Never mind the fact that she was a lousy photographer. Her Nikon gave her "street cred" with her peers.

I don't think anything is wrong with it!! I find it refreshing that there are other brands that are not Canon or Nikon out there that can take very nice photos. Some people want to hide behind their camera. A great photographer can take great photos with any camera. It still takes a good photographer to take good photos even with a brand new camera.
I use Olympus, Its a bit different from the Canon and Nikon formats, but I don't feel that there is a lack of accessories. Other brands have loads of lenses and other accessories that the Canikons claim to have, much of it is the same or higher quality of the generic Canon and Nikon.
