I shoot all my work with Pentax. At present I shoot with the K200D. I have friends who shoot with the K10D and the K20D. I'm looking in to upgrading to their new camera. Pentax certainly doesn't have all the accessories some of the other brands have but that's not why I chose Pentax. I shoot under very unfavorable conditions alot so I basically chose Pentax ( I started with a K1000) for the seal system. I have gotten my Pentax drenched by ocean waves and heavy rain, and often shoot in very dusty conditions. Quality wise, it's pretty good. A friend of mine at a camera store printed out some photos at 20x30 with photos from various cameras and the Pentax was right up there with the others. If you want to see a lot of examples by Pentax users check out their photo gallery at .

I think you'll see quite a few professionals there who shoot with the K20D
References :
freelance nature/wildlife photog

It is great. Pentax makes some of the best glass available. The camera represents a good value.

That said, as much as I would love you to spend your money with a underdog, the overall accessory system is limited. I would recommend you stay with Nikon or Canon.

I have been using Canon, Nikon and Leica since 1973. If you plan to get serious about photography then the amazing variety of lenses available from the big three is something that should be considered carefully. You might look into the Canon Mark II ds, Nikon D700 or Canon 5D.
References :
.
