The Tapestry of Autumn (Endless Sunrise Mix)
Posted by admin | Under Pentax K20D Lenses Wednesday Jun 30, 2010
The following is a simple image to image dissolve slide show of photographs taken in New Brunswick in the last two weeks of September 2009. The trip was unbelievable. If I could ask for ten things to come true on such a trip, all ten came true, and more things I never dreamt of. Rich colours abound and every place you looked there was a photograph to be had.
The music is called Endless Sunrise which I composed way back in January 2008. I wanted to use Beautiful (Ambient Mix) by Orkidea and Reflection del Mar by Cafe Lounge, but given copyrights and all, I didnt feel it ethical to do so, maybe Ill ask them permission and post a revised version if they give it to me. Didnt want these beautiful images to be pulled from YouTube.
I hope you like it.
Technical Details
All of the photographic effects in the show are all done in camera.
* Ortons (multiple exposures of three images (one in focus, one slightly out of focus, and one really out of focus))
* Multiple exposure zooms (where each frame is taken, then the lens (60-250mm) is zoomed slightly and a new image taken)
* Long shutter zooms (where the aperture is set to F32 or higher to get a shutter speed of 1/2 second, then alter the telephoto zoom as the frame is exposed)
* Long shutter twirls (same as a zoom, but where the lens is spun instead of zoomed)
I use a Pentax K20D (14.6 Mp) with a wired remote release and a tripod. My lenses are a D-FA 100mm F2.8 Macro, DA* 60-250mm F4, and a DA 12-24mm F4. 60 total images from a base set of just 275.
There is one image where a stamp tool was applied so that a transition between two images worked better. Five images have superficial digital alterations to remove hotspots. Most of the images have elevated black clipping levels, increases saturation (clarity and vibrance), and various cropping applied. Photoshop CS2 and Lightroom 2.5 were used.
